Let’s Celebrate with a World Down Syndrome Day After Party!

Every year on March 21st, we observe World Down Syndrome Day. It's an important day where people worldwide unite to celebrate and support individuals with Down syndrome. The month of March is also Developmental Disabilities Awareness Month. This year, we will gather locally on March 24th from 1 pm to 4 pm, acknowledging that the celebration of people with disabilities can happen any and every day of the year!

What is a scientist? How does a scientist explore the world around them? What tools do they use? Students begin their journey into the world of scientific investigation.

NWDS is happy to partner with OMSI to host this Play Lab for our families.

The KIC seeks to connect families beginning their transition to elementary school! Through five sessions we will provide a backpack of tools and supports to kick off an inclusive journey that values belonging and vision, embraces your hopes and dreams, and explores the strengths and gifts of your child. Inclusion is centered around these attributes, the general education curriculum, and your child’s right to a free and appropriate education.

Math is fun! Through playful exploration, this class designed for ages 0-6 will help increase students’ positive attitudes towards math, raise their perception of self-efficacy, and help them have fun (while doing math!).

Join NWDS board members (and parents of kiddos with disabilities) for some park play and togetherness at Rivercrest Park! Feel free to bring a picnic dinner and your suit & towel and meet us near the spraypark. We will provide the popsicles!
